Background
Emily Passic, LMP
I attended the Cortiva Institute - Brian Utting School of Massage during the years 2006-2007. I specialize in deep tissue, stress management, and injury treatment massage. I am certified in IntraOral Massage and can effectively work with clients with TJM Dysfunction and other jaw related issues. I am also a Certified Clinical Nutritionist from the Natural Healing Institute in California, and a fitness instructor, specializing in mat Pilates and Stability ball work. I work with many different kinds of athletes and improving recovery, and balancing their bodies from overuse.
I can effectively work with people on core strength, balance, flexibility, breathing and centering through both massage and Pilates. I have eight years of experience teaching many types of fitness classes such as Pilates, yoga, dance, and body sculpting. Through this experience I have gained knowledge on not only the mechanics of the way the body works, but how mental, emotional, and nutritional changes and/or patterns affect the body. Because of this, I can offer personalized movement analysis, postural analysis, and a keen kinesthetic awareness of each client.
In 2008 I created a DVD called "Stand Tall" mainly to assist my clients in at-home exercises and stretches to cure the commonly overused and under stretched muscles that I see in massage everyday. My DVD can be purchased at www.StandTallFitness.com and is perfect for beginners as well as advanced exercisers. The exercises are all based on improving posture and strengthening the core and to alleviate back pain caused by too much sitting and slouching. This is an instructional DVD and is based on learning proper body mechanics of the exercises and gives options for different fitness levels.
